Yes. We accept major fleet management company cards and programs including GM Business Choice, GM Fleet, ARI, Element, Enterprise Fleet Management, Wheels, LeasePlan, Donlen, and most commercial fleet card programs. Talk to your service advisor about your specific fleet program when you schedule.

Yes. We perform engine control module (ECM) reprogramming, transmission control module (TCM) updates, body control module (BCM) programming, infotainment software updates, key fob programming, and other software services. Many manufacturer recalls and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) require module reprogramming, which we handle as part of our authorized dealer service.

Yes. As an authorized GM dealer, we service hybrid systems and electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains including the Hummer EV and other GM electrified models. Our technicians are trained on high-voltage safety procedures and have access to specialized EV diagnostic and repair equipment.


Tires

Yes. It's exactly what it sounds like: buy three eligible tires and get the fourth for $1, with installation included at Kemna Buick GMC of Fort Dodge. This is a current GM Certified Service promotion on select tire brands. The fourth tire must be of equal or lesser value to the highest-priced tire in the set, and the maximum consumer purchase price is $450 per tire. Limit one offer per VIN. Yes. Our tire price match guarantee works two ways:

  • Before purchase: Show us a better eligible price from a competing tire retailer within 100 miles, and we'll match it.
  • After purchase: Find a better price within 30 days of buying tires from us, and we'll refund the difference.

Eligible tire brands include BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Cooper, Firestone, General, Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Michelin, Pirelli, and Uniroyal.

Beyond new tire sales, we offer tire rotation, balancing, computerized four-wheel alignment, flat repair, valve stem and TPMS sensor replacement, seasonal tire changeover (summer/winter swaps), tire storage, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset and programming. Tire rotations are included with our oil change packages.

Most manufacturers recommend rotating tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles — typically with every other oil change. Regular rotation extends tire life, improves handling, and is often required to keep your tire warranty valid. We include tire rotation with most oil change services.


Oil Changes & Quick Service

Not at our Fort Dodge location directly. For express oil changes and routine quick service, we partner with Express Lube of Fort Dodge — a Valvoline Express Care location — to deliver fast, drive-through service for our customers. For factory-recommended GM Dexos full synthetic oil service, computer-monitored maintenance, and any work that requires factory diagnostic equipment, our certified service department is the right choice.

Every service appointment includes a complimentary multi-point inspection of:

  • Tire tread depth and pressure (all four tires)
  • Brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid
  • Battery condition and charging system
  • Engine air filter and cabin air filter

  • All fluid levels — coolant, transmission, power steering, brake, washer

Brakes

Full brake service including brake pad replacement, rotor replacement or resurfacing, brake caliper service, brake fluid flush, brake line repair, ABS system diagnostics and repair, parking brake adjustment, and complete brake system inspection. We use ACDelco Silver, ACDelco Gold, and GM Genuine Parts brake components with manufacturer-backed warranties.

Front rotor pricing starts at $279.95 (ACDelco Silver, most cars and small SUVs) and varies by vehicle. Rear brakes priced separately. Rebates of up to $60 per axle are currently available on select brake pads and rotors — see our specials page for current offers.

Common warning signs include: squealing or grinding noises when braking, longer stopping distances, a vibration or pulsation through the brake pedal, the brake warning light on your dash, a soft or spongy brake pedal, or pulling to one side when braking. If you notice any of these, bring it in for a free brake inspection — driving on worn brakes can damage rotors and is a safety risk.


Batteries

Yes — free battery test and inspection. We test battery voltage and load, inspect terminals for corrosion, check cables for damage, inspect the battery case, and verify proper mounting. Stop by during service hours — no appointment needed for a quick battery test.

Most batteries can be installed same-day if we have your size in stock.

Most car batteries last 3 to 5 years depending on driving conditions, climate, and vehicle electrical load. Iowa winters and summers are both hard on batteries. Signs you need a new battery: slow engine cranking, dashboard battery light, dim headlights, electrical issues, or a swollen battery case. Get yours tested annually after year 3.

Yes. Our Cooling System Refresh is $154.95 and includes radiator and pump inspection, hose and clamp inspection, belt inspection, and a complete coolant flush and refill with the correct factory-specified coolant. Critical for Iowa summers and winters.

Yes. Four-wheel computerized alignment is $89.95, front-end (two-wheel) alignment is $69.95. We check steering, suspension, shocks, tie-rods, ball joints, set toe-in, camber and caster (where applicable), and inspect tires for uneven wear. Recommended whenever you install new tires or notice pulling, uneven tire wear, or steering wheel vibration.


Engine Work

Yes. We perform engine diagnostics, repair, rebuild, and replacement — including head gasket repair, timing chain or belt replacement, cylinder head work, fuel injector service, turbo and supercharger repair, EGR system service, and complete engine swaps when needed. All engine work is guaranteed, and we use GM Genuine Parts or equivalent OEM components.

Yes. Currently a $200 rebate is available on the purchase and installation of select GM Genuine Parts engines, transmissions, and transfer cases. Limit one rebate per service per vehicle. See our Service & Parts Specials for current eligibility and rebate submission deadlines.

Yes. Engine misfires, knocking, ticking, rough idle, loss of power, and unusual noises all have specific diagnostic procedures. Our technicians use OEM scan tools, live data analysis, compression tests, and listening tools to identify the cause — whether it's spark plugs, fuel injectors, ignition coils, timing components, or something deeper. We diagnose first, quote second, repair third.


Transmission Service

Yes. We perform complete transmission service including:

  • Transmission fluid and filter changes
  • Transmission flushes
  • Transmission control module (TCM) programming and updates
  • Shift solenoid replacement
  • Torque converter service
  • Transmission rebuilds
  • Complete transmission replacement
  • Transfer case service and replacement (4WD/AWD)

All transmission work is guaranteed. The $200 GM Genuine Parts rebate applies to qualifying transmission replacements.

Warning signs include: delayed engagement when shifting from Park to Drive, hard or jerky shifts, slipping (engine revs but vehicle doesn't accelerate), burning smell, transmission fluid leaks (red or brown fluid under the vehicle), unusual humming or grinding noises, or the check engine light. Don't ignore these — early diagnosis often means a much smaller repair bill.

Most manufacturers recommend automatic transmission fluid service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, though some "lifetime" fluids extend to 100,000+ miles. Severe driving conditions (towing, heavy loads, stop-and-go traffic) require more frequent service. Check your owner's manual or ask a Kemna service advisor for the specific recommendation for your vehicle.

Warranty & Recalls

Yes. As an authorized Buick and GMC dealer, we perform all factory warranty repairs, recall service, and powertrain coverage work at no charge to the customer for covered repairs. Bring your vehicle in and we'll verify what's covered and what needs paid service.

Collision & Body Work

We don't do collision or body work in-house, but we partner with KG Collision of Fort Dodge for all collision repair, body work, paint, and structural repairs. Our service team coordinates directly with theirs so customers move from estimate to repair to back-on-the-road without the runaround. Mechanical repairs related to a collision (cooling, electrical, suspension) are handled at Kemna.
